Souji was a little startled--he clearly hadn't been expecting that particular move, and then blushed hard when he realized Hijikata was watching him, as well. He wasn't really sure how he was supposed to respond to that, though his heart rate had kicked up a notch, and he was definitely feeling a little flustered by it.
