Czesiek did manage to get them back to his apartment without getting lost (an accomplishment really... everything looked odd, like he was at a different angle than usual) and let them into the apartment with minimal apologizing for the mess.
Iau came to greet them, winding around their ankles and demanding food and attention. Setting his bags in a corner, Czesiek scooped up the cat and peeked briefly into the bedroom to make sure he'd cleaned up after freaking out this morning. Success. "It should be safe... I'll just feed the Queen and change in the bathroom. Think about where you'd like to go?"
